Celebrating Filipino Traditions at the 2024 Pasko in America Festival

East Rutherford, NJ — The highly anticipated 2024 Pasko in America is set to bring the magic of Filipino Christmas traditions to life, uniting the community in a day filled with music, culture, games, and camaraderie. This celebration of Filipino heritage and holiday spirit will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at American Dream, Court A in this city.

This year’s event promises something for everyone. The day begins at 8:00 am with exhibitors showcasing their unique booths adorned with Filipino-inspired Christmas decorations. As the event officially opens, community leaders and special guests will take the stage to deliver inspiring remarks, setting the tone for the day.

Highlights of the Pasko in America 2024 Run of Show include:

●       10:00 am: Filipino Christmas songs fill the air as the event opens with a welcome from the host and remarks

●       11:00 am: A Holy Mass led by Fr. Dani Dela Pena and Fr. Emerson Francisco celebrates faith and togetherness.

●       12:00 pm: Speeches by CEO and President Fernando Mendez, Philippine consular members and community leaders, recognizing the support and collaboration that make this event possible.

The rich heritage of Filipino music takes center stage with the Combined Ensemble of the University of the Philippines Alumni & Friends Rondalla and the Philippine Chamber Rondalla of New Jersey. These exceptional musicians will showcase the timeless charm of the rondalla, a cherished Filipino tradition rooted in the Spanish colonial era, celebrated for its melodic string harmonies.

Adding to the lineup, Fiesta in America’s pop-rock mainstay, Band of Brothers, will electrify the audience with their classic rock and roll hits. Joining them are powerhouse vocalist TJ Castanares and the soulful Lirazen Rose, who brought the house down at last August’s Fiesta in America.

The stage will also shine a spotlight on rising talents, including Jiro Ferrer, the pride of Essex County, known for opening for artists like Gigi de Lana, and the gifted singer-guitarist Brennan delos Santos, delivering performances that promise to captivate audiences of all ages.

D’Divas of St Vincent and Bibboloysius, renowned line dancers, will get the crowd moving and grooving in the massive venue.

The traditional Filperformances will feature the Combined Ensemble of the University of the Philippines Alumni & Friends Rondalla and the Philippine Chamber Rondalla of New Jersey.

Nathan Angelo, a dynamic performer who has brought his talent to Broadway such as the innovative Here Lies Love, now takes the spotlight as a DJ. Angelo is a versatile performer who extends to roles in celebrated musicals like Rent, where he served as Mark's understudy, and Something Rotten!, stepping in as Nigel. Nathan's standout performances also include Pippin and Brigadoon, where his charisma and stage presence has captivated audiences. 

Attendees can also look forward to cultural games such as Mano Po, Pinoy Christmas Trivia, and the exciting Bring Me Christmas Edition, which offer exciting prizes and interactive fun for all ages.
