Oftentimes, the strangest or most painful life experiences transform us for the better. For 64-year-old Dustan Yoder, his near-death experience in 2019 transformed him to choose a simple, faithful, and worry-free life. My conversation with him on July 18, 2024, was certainly one of the best interviews in my podcast Conversations with MM.

Dustan’s out of body experience was his spiritual awakening and transformation. The Near-Death Experience Research Foundation has documented millions of cases of NDEs across various cultures and religions, suggesting the existence of consciousness beyond the physical body.

The top viewed episodes were the conversations with Felix Manuel on Miss Universe 2023 R’Bonney Gabriel and 2024 Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios; New York City Ballet principal dancer Anthony Huxley; and the 125th Philippine Independence Day celebrations in New York.

Focusing on community events and issues, culture, and leadership that shape up localities in New York, New Jersey, and Cebu City in the Philippines, Conversations with MM turns one year old in May 2023. For quite some time during this pandemic, I have been thinking of gathering my documentary projects in the Philippines in order to archive my work. I was glad that early this year, I was able to gather two of my early works on the lives of Redemptorist priests Fr. Louie Hechanova and Fr. Leo James English.

The producer, the late Fr. Frank Connon, CSsR in Cebu, opened before me the world of film documentaries, which was a great opportunity to expand my media technology skill.

High School reunions are often special, and specially so during the era of the coronavirus. My batchmates at the Colegio dela Inmaculada Concepcion gathered digitally in December 2020 for a beautiful, nostalgic reunion. It was a time for glee and gratitude.
